Bad Debt Credit CardPosted on April 25, 2010. I have about 5-10k of credit card debt bad. I wondered if I pay, will I get my card back? Its more than a year since Ive been able to do any type of payment on them. In addition, they have all been turned into collection agencies. I know I'll have to build my credit again. I just wondered if the cards I will be turned back on again, or will I have to start from scratch? In addition, lets say that I was able to pay all future bad debts, my credit report to be rid of all the bad things? Creditors may either use collection agencies to collect the debt on their behalf, or they may sell your debt collection agency. If the latter, then the account is closed. If the former, the account is probably "active", but there may be a block on him. For example, when I worked at the library, we used an outside collection agency for collecting library fines of over $ 50. The library card is blocked. Only until they pay their balances will we allow them to use the card again. (The books are assets of the city .... a library card is like a credit card in which you take the property.) If you pay your debts, you can increase your score of the year can be some 2-3 years, but you do not have to start from scratch. But again it will take 7 years to get things deleted from your credit file. There are companies that will help you settle your debts and see that your situation is allowed in the credit report.
