Bank Account SearchPosted on January 21, 2010. Can I search for a bank account that was opened with my social security number? My grandparents started a bank account for me when I was barely born. They used my social security number, but I'm not sure that their bank has started. They have since disappeared and there was no mention in the will. It's been 20 years since it was opened supposively and I wondered if there was a way to search using my social security number to know if they ever made the account, closed the account before their death, or know which bank it is. It depends on whether or not they have all account transactions over the past 20 years. If no transaction, it is likely that the account has been closed for inactivity and the property goes to your state as abandoned property (or dormant). You can contact the treasurer of your state of siege for more info about it. Otherwise, I would like to contact the bank where they have their banking. Another option is to try with their tax returns to see if a 1099 was never sent. Just start going to different banks and asking if they can check for a social account, or you can call the bank near your grandparents lived, or the branch where they inclined It will be difficult. The best: start with the bank (s) during which they made their own bank. CommentsThere are no comments.Leave a Comment | Newest My Friends |
