Bank Savings Account Rates

I am wanting to open a savings account and add a percentage of my salary every month. I'm in Houston, Texas, and I would appreciate your advice as to which bank has the highest rate savings account, etc.. Thank you!

Credit unions are not FDIC insured. When comparing banks, I use bankrate.com, they compare the interest rates on savings accounts, credit cards and mortgages. Some accounts require that you have $ 5,000 or $ 50,000 to get the best rate.

If you have not yet, you might look into opening an IRA and invest the money you would put in the savings account. Depending on your tolerance for risk, you can find investments that meet your needs.

Chase has a variety of services u can either put the money on deposit ur CD u have certified that much more interest.

Any type of fund is best for the best savings accounts and they have the best interest rates.

Do not use a bank. They pay the lowest interest of all. Use a savings and loan or credit union. The fund would pay more in most cases, but you generally do not have the convenience of multiple locations. It would not be too important if you want electronic banking. Personally, I like the opportunity to have a variety of places I could visit.

I'm with ING.com ... I'm sure you've seen the commercials with the bus bench. They are online and you can set up automatic deposits from your checking account. They currently pay 4.5% and no minimum deposit are FDIC insured

I've been with them for several years. I highly recommend them. They also have CD at 5% and a new checking account at 3%.
