Child Bank Account

Well my parents are about to make me a 11 + bank account and I want to know how much you have a month to put in there?

My mother started at $ 5.00 for me and my sister.

I did not put money in the bank accounts of my children every month - they received their weekly pocket money in their hands. I opened an account for each of them, and put in some Christmas and birthdays, and therefore grandparents. But I did not put in more each month. However, I have put my own money very carefully, and when they got married, everyone has a decent amount to me.

It's really an individual decision, and should be based on the finances of a particular family.

We have about 5% of our revenues in the accounts of our children, but they are what we call 529, something that can be used for education, as tuition fees. Can not be removed, for example, just to get an iPod or something.

Our children also have their own accounts, to spend as they please. We put nothing in there. They make money whether the tasks, work outside paid or receive gifts, and deposit.

We put $ 20 per week in each of the bank accounts of the child. This adds up to $ 1,000 per year. However, we do not allow children to have access to their accounts until they are at college or a steady job in place. Just because they have money in the bank do not mean they can spend it.

I had my own savings account and had free access to all this. My parents did not put any money in but sometimes I get money birthday and of course I also saved some of my allowance. Most of the money came from the job I had on school nights or weekends.
