College Planning Software

I am a student planning to attend college in graphic design, need to know what is the best day of graphic design software for 3D/4D, do not know something other than Photoshop, but I think that it is better ... Please advice. Thank you:)

There are 6 main 3D software in the industry today:

Maya, 3D Studio Max, Softimage XSI, Lightwave, Houdini, Cinema 4D

Autodesk software has the first three, and I suggest you go with one of these if you want to do 3D.
All have free trial versions and students that you can download from their website.

/ But for graphics that you do not need to know 3D. 2D graphic design mostly deals with orders. /
