Consolidation does not affect your credit score as how bankruptcy does. In fact, you can save thousands of dollars because you consolidated all your interest payments into one. Carrying a credit balance with interest of 15% is much better than the attainment of 10 credit cards with interest at 10% each. That'sa lot of money that you can keep in your pockets.
