Emigrant Savings

I want to invest in a savings account high yield and my money is available if I need it. I was told INGDirect and Emigrant Bank is the way forward with the highest rates. Bank of emigration is 4.70% TRA. I was wondering how they are safe to use. They are FDIC insured, but I just wanted to make sure I'm not going to waste my money if I transfer into one of these accounts.

perfectly safe. All you have to do is connect it to your "brick and mortar" account and move money in and out of everything you want.

I use ING and it was great, except for interest rates fell a few times during the past year. it is 4.2% compared to nearly 5%

emigrantdirect is now 4.75%, and the best rates I can find are Apple Bank Grand Yield Direct 5% and Flushing Saving igobanking.com 5.17%.

They are safe. I personally use Emigrant Direct and could not be happier.

If you prefer a well-known popular banking and ING Direct is the way forward.

EmigrantDirect and ING are solid. ING is purely online, but there are emigration as a brick and mortar establishment if it makes you feel better. I walk by a branch of Emigrant Savings every day. If you're already banking with Citi, look at their offers high performance too.
