Best high street savings in the United Kingdom account. suggestions please. Hello
I need to start a savings account, of course, I want as high an interest rate that I can, but .. I would still need to go to the snack money emergency quickly.
Any suggestions welcome please, or even if you have a better idea!
instant access ISA would be a good starting point, but you can save £ 3,600 in each tax year. (Mine with the country)
also stands for "saving monthly is good - but you must put yourself in a certain amount each month or you lose the bonus interest. (They also have conditions on withdrawals in order to verify this information before opening)
The account Abby 8% should be avoided. The 8% only applies if you also put the same amount of money in a different account as well - so not worth the rush
Edit to add
The ISA limit is £ 3000 but the chancellor is raised to £ 3,600 in the budget just left for this fiscal year.
Abbey have an account with interest at 8%, even if you need to read the fine print
ISA Barclays Bank is currently at 6.5%
Edit to add.
Mike, I think you can save a 3,000 Authority of the year, and you are allowed to be paid once a year. Everything up to £ 3K is the interest is tax free. During that you stop paying into them.
Suppose you store a little money for an emergency in a savings account paying 5 High St% gross
The balance of what you did you say 1 year fixed deposit with Coventry Bldg Society paying 6.15% gross. You lose 3 months if you remove int. Just think this way you can say £ 5,000 in a store link for a year?
