I try to open a new small business account in California and I would like some recommendations from other business owners.

Shop among local banks in person. I was amazed by the variation among offeres I found that I received from banks competing head-to-head in my (Denver) market.

Ultimately, the bank I went with Wells Fargo waived fees for one year, gave me $ 150 cash incentive, and paid for my first order of checks and deposit tickets. They also had the best deal on the royalty Ongoing / non-payers.

However, I opened my account a year ago, and in a different market, so do not take my experience as a suggestion to run to Wells Fargo. You really need to shop around locally. Specials are changing all the time and when the officers of the bank are running below their quota account, they may be more inclined to "find" more incentives for you!
