Is it an agency know about money market accounts with Washington Mutual? Is it an agency know about money market accounts with Washington Mutual? I want to open it if it's worth it. I wanted to know how and don'ts.
I have account in WAMU (Washington Mutual) and I think they have very competitive rates even on normal savings account.
See if you can find an agreement on the site of the WAMU is. I opened an online account with WAMU (sometimes in December last year) and they pay me 3.45% on a regular savings account .... compared to 2.25% that BoA (Bank of America) pays me on my 1-year CD.
I just checked the website of the WAMU and there is some agreement on CD-ROM where they pay up to 4 %....... no luck with the money market or savings opportunities.
Otherwise, I suggest that you can try BoA, very recently, they had a contract where you pay 2.25% on a CD of 9 months. This is a hybrid CD that works much like a savings account - you can withdraw money as you want without penalty and there is no risk associated with this topic.
$ 500,000 + 2.80% 2.84%
Their rates are not very good, even if you have a 1 / 2 million dollars to them.
You better find something here:
