Money Market Interest Calculator

Money Market Interest CalculatorDifference between a money market account and a savings account???

I noticed Discover offers a money market account at 3.14 apy
and HSBC offers a savings account at 3.50 apy
And I used their calculator programs of interest, and it showed that HSBC will earn you more interest a year, so I want to know what is the difference between money market accounts and accounts Savigned??

You could win a little more with HSBC, but it could be a little more risk. Accounts FDIC insured?

Traditionally, markets have been designed to offer better interest rates, and are usually liquid.

I think the money market accounts are like savings accounts, unless they come with restrictions on minimum, and perhaps some limits on what you can buy.

But be sure this is not a money market fund you're looking at. These are risky. There is an article explaining the difference in http://www.hiddendangersrevealed.com/ (click on "investments" link)

In general, a money market account will offer interest rates higher than savings, but requires a higher minimum balance. Of course, each account varies from bank to bank. The best way to find out is to ask what are the differences.
