What banks accept third party checks? I receive monthy payments of the State of South Dakota by check. The problem is that I left the country, and not having an account in the United States. What banks allow me to sign the checks over to a relative so they can deposit into their account?
I am not aware of one. You may have to make arrangements
with a bank before.
Any bank.
the bank will alow you to do what you asked. BUT, the caveat here is that you must sign the check for the adult. This means that you have to physically touch the check. You can not sign over the checks enbanc (at once) So if you have money payable by check are your options to open an account with a bank in the country where you are and electronic monitoring filed in the account (Cut relatives out of the business of handling cash) or bank account Opena U.S. funds and sent them there and use an ATM card worldwide access your money.
Once you are due a sum of money from a settlement or whatever, you can not assign the money to another person without "touch" the funds. It is called "constructive receipt" and aims to ensure that you have actually received the funds properly.
