Sbi Term Deposit

Posted on May 20, 2010.
Sbi Term DepositI would like to invest in long-term deposits of SBI for my children, all I can suggest one?

What should be the minimum?, What may be the period from minimum to maximum? I give all the information you know about.

I agree with Manisha. You can open a PPF A / C in SBI. It is a good investment long term and safe too.

Why do not you go for PPF (Public Provident Fund) account. The safety and an 8% compounded annual return is bound to attract investors. And because of the tax benefit because PPF is covered by Article 80C, the real return of 8% works higher. PPF is a secure investment and an avenue of tax savings.
You can invest up to Rs 70,000 per annum in the PPF. The minimum that you need each year is Rs 500. In addition to such a considerable flexibility in terms of amount of money to invest, you can invest the money in up to 12 payments. You do not have to put it all into one payment go.Each can be any amount you want it to be a multiple of Rs 100 (but not less than Rs 500). They should not all be identical.
You can renew your A / C, after 15 years for the next 5 years.

Manisha is correct
